Student Handbook Handbooks will be sent tomorrow! (Be on the lookout!) • Please review the handbook with your child. • After reviewing the handbook, please sign the agreement form on the last page and return to school. This must be kept on file for every student.
Technology & Photo Permission Forms Children MUST have a permission form on file These forms are kept from K-12. If you choose to change your choices made from previous year, a new form needs to be completed. Please request a new form if you need one. (I have this information. Please see/contact me if you have any questions regarding what you selected last year.) Student files will be checked to ensure a form is on file. If you don’t have one, a form will be sent home with your child.
Important Schoolwide Dates Interim & Report Card Dates Testing Dates/Information • mClass (3x a year: beginning, middle, and end) • If a child has scored a 4 or 5 on the EOG OR scored a 4 in reading on their Q4 3rdgrade report card, he/she does not have to take the mClass assessment. • Case 21 (TBD) • EOG (end of year) Conferences: • Held twice per year (and upon request); student-led conferences in the spring
Volunteer Opportunities Please register soon(tonight)! Volunteer registration (open in computer lab daily) Volunteer opportunities pop up throughout the year, and you need clearance to do so. If there is a possibility that you will attend a field trip, please register now! • We need 2 Volunteers for the 4th Grade Science Kits • If you are interested, please email me at mmallian@wcpss.net • If you are interested in volunteering in the classroom, please send me an email indicating the days & times that work for you.
Learning Targets & Student Accountability • Based on curriculum standards • What students should learn by the end of the lesson • “I can” or “I will” statements • Students are held accountable for learning targets • Exit tickets, quick checks, quizzes, etc. Quarterly Learning Targets can be found under the “Curriculum” tab on our class webpage. www.msmallian.weebly.com

This year our classroom will be participating in the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program. This is a great opportunity for our class to explore collaborative digital learning and have access to so many great resources through our devices. In order for your child to utilize their personal device, it must be registered through the school. Students that have returned their BYOD permission form and registered their device may begin to bring them to school on Monday, July 25th.
