Facial Recognition Technology is:- • able to isolate a face within a crowd. • able to measure & store features of a face. eg jaw line length, eye socket depth, distance between the eyes, cheekbone shape, and the width of the nose. • able to detect, recognise, extract and analyse a face from video footage, digital images & photos.

  4. ….multiple application & benefits… • Match voters to database to verify identity and minimise voter fraud, as in Mexico. • Speed up identity verification and increase security for travellers in airports and railway stations. • Protect bank account holders against ATM fraud.

  8. Facial Recognition systems are a powerful tool for national security, surveillance, policing, border control, public safety, preservation of public and private property.

  9. In the commercial world, facial recognition systems provide significant economic advantage saving time and money where ever they are applied… for example…..

  10. A large company employs a face recognition device to monitor the attendance and hours worked by their employees. Device Features: • verifies employee identity • validates attendance • accurately records hours of work • protects against truancy • guards against uninvited intrusion • connects directly with payroll database

  11. Device Benefits: • saves times in multiple employee clocking in and out. • results in extended hours of employee productivity. • reduces costs in tracking attendance. • reduces costs in transfer of attendance information to payroll
