2. Model for Interaction There are four different aspects of our position that generate constructive discussions. Today, we are addressing Curriculum and Instruction and how technology can be embedded in these areas for meaningful student achievements.

4. Summer Renewal Group “Cheryl Shares” the spontaneous summer sessions of several available librarians concerned about the State of TUSD Libraries. The group collectively agreed to the need for 3 committees or goals: Student Achievement and Assessment PR/ Image Improvement Grant Writing The Vision all librarians need to focus on in this school year must relate to the new AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner.

15. Sally, What’s a Wordle? http://wordle.net/ Wordles- a great technique for showing the emphasis in an article or speech. You copy and paste text or link to a blog’s URL. The most frequently used words show up the largest. A great way to analyze campaign speeches. “A toy for generating “word clouds” from text.”

16. What’s a WIKI? 1994 – Ward Cunningham –Wiki term from buses at Honolulu Airport – fast, quick Web pages in minutes with minimal skills needed. You can make a wiki using the Basic Directions link. I recommend Wikispaces. It seems to have better graphic capabilities, and comments don’t show unless you click on them. All educational wikis should be private or by invitation only, never public. All of the wikis I listed have educational wikis as a separate option. The three I listed are free. Evidence-based Practice • The TUSD Assessment Wiki • A place to gather information and organize data • for evidence based practice. • The plan this year is to create an online pre and post-test based on the Trails model for 2nd, 4th, 7th, and 9th grades. • We have already discussed this with Accountability and Research. If we can get them the test questions they can help us create the test. • The link to Trails, a free assessment, is on the wiki. • We need a PD day in August to solicit questions, and get the committee working on the tests.
