CAASPP TESTS Smarter Balanced Life Science (Day 1) – April 24- 25 @ 9:25 am – 10:45 am English Language Arts (Day 1) – April 30 @ 9:00 am – 10:25 am English Language Arts (Days 2,3) – May 1-2 @ 9:15 am – 11:00 Mathematics – May 21 (Day 1) @ 9:25 am – 10:45 am Mathematics – May 22-23 (Days 2,3) @ 9:25 am – 10:50 am ------------------------------------------------------------------ It’s TIME NOW to prepare for College Entrance. The first task for you is the SMARTER BALANCED (CAASPP). “Are you prepared to write and do math on the Freshman Level?”
RESULTS: STANDARD EXCEEDED/READY 1. Ready for Freshman English. Earn a C or better in Senior English course. STANDARD MEET/CONDITIONALLY READY 1. ERWC AB (Expository Reading & Writing Course) Senior English Course designed to improve the readiness of high school students for English competency in college. 2. AP English Literature 3. AP score 3 or higher (depends on university) *Must Earn a grade of C or better both semesters for Cal State Universities. University of California’s and Private schools vary. STANDARD NOT MET/NOT READY 1. To qualify for Freshman English/Math based on SAT and or an ACT specified score and… 2. Must also attend CSU Early Start Program.
How to prepare? • Students need to attend their classes, including advisory. They are practicing in English, math and advisory classes. • They need to be here on test days. Please reschedule any appointments that take place on a test day. • On test days they need to eat before the test. We will have Breakfast in the Classroom on test days. • They need to be well rested during the weeks of testing.
