This is the time when most of us write down our resolutions to bring in a change, to plan a new path in life or to simply improve the way we have been doing things. If you have been looking for clarity on how you want to move ahead in your career, this is a good time to work out your career resolutions or what we like to call the Career Vision Board. This is where you write your plan for the near future, the possibilities and the effort you have to put in to achieve the same. Here’s a little help from us (Team SahiCareer) to help you draw up your Career Vision Board and write down your resolutions for realizing your career path. Resolution 1: That I will work on a career plan If you have been stalling on working out a career plan, this is the time to work it out. Even if you are just in your 9th or 10th grade, it is a good time to start thinking of the possible career path. Write down your favourite subjects and career streams that match it. This is a good way to begin the New Year. Resolution 2: That I will jot down my skills and aptitude If you have chalked down your career plan or favourite subject streams, you should write down the skills or talents you think you have. Note down your aptitude for your favourite subjects – following a descending order. It is a good way to get clarity on what you might like to do in future. Resolution 3: That I will seek guidance from career counsellors You might have been avoiding getting career guidance from an expert career guide. But it is a good idea to seek help from a trained career counsellor. It will help you get clarity on your choice of career. In fact, you can take their support to appear for Career Assessment Test for better understanding. Resolution 4: That I will work on my resume If you are about to complete you bachelor’s degree, you should design your resume now. If you are confused about how to go about it, then there are some interesting online resume generators to try out. Check our resume generator here. It’s free and professionally designed. Resolution 5: I will get a great job/ internship Since future employers appreciate certain amount of working experience, it is a good idea to sign up for internship programs. You can work as intern for short term programs during the times you have breaks from your studies. Look for internships that match your stream and aptitude.
