Any omnipotent being is able to prevent all evil. • 5. If God exists then evil does not exist (from 1-4) • 6. But there is evil! • Thus, 7. God doesn’t exist (from 5 & 6)
Possible replies • Possible replies: • 1. Does evil exist? • 2. Can an omnipotent being prevent the evil outcomes of free creatures? • 3. Is omnipotence even possible? • 4. Must an omnibenevolent God prevent all evil? Maybe God has a reason for allowing some evil to exist?
