  2. Who was the Denny Party? The Denny Party who were the founders of Seattle included many people. Lenora Denny she was only four, and her sister Louisa Denny was seven, then there was their brother Rolland he was two months. Next there was the Lows Alonzo Low was seven with his four year old brother John they had a older sister Mary Low who was nine and their two year old sister Minerva Low. There was Gertrude Boren he was eleven months and his teenage sister Louisa. There was Olive Bell she was five her sister Virginia was only four and there was Laura Bell and their younger sister Lavina. There was Arthur Denny and his wife and his brother David Denny. There was John Low and his wife, Carson Boren and his wife and William Bell and his wife.

  3. The Denny Party started Seattle’s growth!!! The Denny Party set off on the Oregon Trail From Illinois April 10 , 1851 and when they arrived in Port Land They took a schooner called the Exact and they landed at 8:00 A.M. November 13, 1851 On Alki beach. David Denny John Low and Lee Terry discovered Alki when scouting for a place to found a city. David Denny and Lee Terry Began to build a cabin while John Low went to get the rest but when they came back they came back they found the cabin unfinished, David hurt and Lee gone to get a tool.

  4. Denny Party contributions. Arthur Denny was important toSEATTLE’S growth. Arthur Denny, Carson Boren and William Bell measured Elliot Bay with a clothes line weighed down by a horse shoe to figure out how far boats could come in. A ship was sent to the so called “frozen north” for a cargo of ice but instead of ice they found timber and they returned with it also. Arthur Denny Campaigned to have Seattle the capital of Washington but Olympia won.
