Blindness Lacking Visual Perception NLP which stands for No light perception are totally blind. Light Perception- Can tell light from dark, but that is the only vision they have.
Braille Embossers One way to help a visually impaired student is through the use of a Braille embosser. A Braille embosser is a printer that gives Braille text. A downfall of Braille embossers is that they are very costly ranging from $2,000- 80, 000 depending on the needs of the user.
Audio books Audio books are a book on CD or MP3. Visually impaired students can “read” or listen to a book, without needing to get them Braille copies of books. An article on the benefits of audio books in the classroom
Solution There are many solutions to the problem of having a visually impaired student in your classroom. You could get audio books for the student to listen to. You could print off things for the student on a Braille Embosser.
