  2. Many Americans blamed President Hoover for the Depression. This was worn by supporters of Franklin Roosevelt who ran against Hoover in 1932

  3. Thousands of banks failed and people’s money disappeared

  4. Bank Run - When rumors spread that a bank was about to fail people all rushed to withdraw their money. Can they all get their moneyout?

  5. Unemployment peaked at 25%. Cities were hit the hardest.

  6. Hoovervilles – groups of shacks and makeshift “homes” for the homeless
