2. Peace sign This gesture probably express our happy emotion. It can also stand for the victory, the meaning of “2” or the scissor in a game calls paper scissors stone. In addition, we usually use this sign when we take a photograph, just like the man does in this picture.
3. Pointing We use this gesture when we want to point something out. Nevertheless, when we first meet people, we should not do this at him or her. It’s very impolite. Otherwise, this gesture is also considered “rude” in Thailand. Consequently, when you visit Thailand, you should not do this at people, either. If you really want to point out somebody, you could use the thumb for substitution.
4. Bowing It’s a more respective way to say “hello”. We often do this to someone who make us have to show our esteem, like the people who is senior to us or the guests. In addition, it sometimes express the apologized emotion. The people in authorities usually use this gesture to say sorry to the public.
5. Holding the chin with the hand It has two meanings. One of the meaning is: When we feel bored, we often use this gesture unconscious, like some of the students in class. The other meaning is just like the coach do in this photograph. He use this gesture with a worry facial expression. We could guess that he is probably anxious about this game.
6. Waving the hand It means “hello” or “goodbye”. What means greeting to somebody is like in this photograph, the girl is probably saying “hello” to the camera. Other example is that the political figures do this gesture to the public when they are in a tour inspection. It means “hello”, too. Otherwise, if we want to say goodbye to someone, we also use this gesture to show our expressions.
