  1. GETTING READY TO ROCK !! A Conference Guide for the 2011 OHRC – HR Rocks !!

  2. Welcome !! • We are so glad that you have chosen one of the premier HR professional development opportunities in the country !! • This Power Point will cover items that will help you have a phenomenal experience !!

  3. Before you arrive . . . • With the theme this year of HR Rocks, the Committee is dressing more casually. You’ll probably see us in jeans and you are more than welcome to be casual with us. • You can download the presentations of our HR Rockstar speaker lineup by clicking on this link: http://www.ohioshrm.org/hr_conf/handout-results-2011.cfm Password for the site is: 2011OHIO  (All caps) • You don’t have to download all the presentations. We recommend you only print out the sessions you plan to attend, or you can put them on an iPad to be more green !!

Before you arrive . . . • Make sure to bring plenty of business cards with you to give out to other attendees as you network, and also to connect with our amazing Resource Partners in the Mosh Pit (Exhibit Hall). • If you are coming to the Conference with guests, and they’d like to come to the Thursday night social, please remember that you need to purchase a guest ticket for them.   5. The Doors Open . . . • Our gates will open on Wednesday morning, 9/21/11 beginning at 8:30am. Also, the great folks in Registrations are the Conf. lost and found and questions hub during the week. • Don’t miss our phenomenal pre-conference session with Mark Stelzner talking about Social Media and HR at 10:00am. • Please note that if you are looking to get all 17.25 available HRCI hours, you need to attend the pre-conf. session as well.

  6. The Doors Open . . . • A cool new feature this year is that we will have food available to purchase before the Headliner goes on at 12:15 pm. You can also eat in the Ballroom and get a great seat !! • Our opening headliner, Simon T. Bailey, can’t wait to talk to you about Brilliance in People. Make sure you are there by noon to get your seat and be ready for the show to start!!

  7. Encore Sessions . . . • Our Encore Sessions will start right after our headliner and you can see the whole schedule here at this link: http://www.ohioshrm.org/hr_conf/program.cfm. You may want to plan your schedule to catch the acts that you’d like to see. • The Ohio State HR Council will be starting the annual SHRM Foundation silent auction on Wednesday afternoon as well !! Prizes truly ROCK !! • A really cool event this year is that YOU can be a Rock Star yourself if you and your friends enter our Rock Band (the video game) contest !! Great prizes and a chance to shine and perform are yours !!!

  8. The Mosh Pit and beyond !! • The Mosh Pit will open on Wednesday night beginning at 5:45 pm until 8:00 pm. The arena will be filled with great Resource Partners who offer a myriad of HR related solutions. You don’t want to miss this !! • After the Pit closes for the night we have some amazing options available to you: • Alliance Staffing will host a Hospitality Hut in the main floor area. • The band The Spazmatics will be performing in The Reserve, sponsored by Everstaff.

  9. The Concert – Day 2 • We have Opening Acts on Day 2 to start off your day at 7:15 am. There is a great mix of acts to choose from. • Day 2 is full of many of our artists performing and you can choose from Solo Acts and from more great Encore Sessions. • The Mosh Pit will also be open Day 2 and they would love to see you. We will be having prize drawings from the booths throughout the day. • We will have a great HR/Business bookstore for you again this year with resources to purchase !!

  10. Time to Laugh !!! • To close out Day 2 we have an incredible entertainer returning to help us all lay our daily HR cares down and laugh. • The incredible Heywood Banks will be performing after we have dinner in the main floor arena. You don’t want to miss this !! • Heywood performed for us a few years ago and was amazing !! You will love him.

  11. The Concert – Day 3 • Day 3 will offer more incredible Opening Acts as well as a final set of Encore Sessions. • The concert closes with another great Headliner – China Gorman !! She is going to send us on our way with great advice and encouragement as HR practitioners. • Then, you’ll be on your way back to your own venues !!

  12. HR ROCKS !! • We can’t wait to see you join us for the Conference on Wednesday, 9/21/11 – Friday, 9/23/11. We promise you that your experience will ROCK !!
