Choice book day! • Next, I’d like you to read quietly for about 25 minutes. • I won’t start timing until people are settled in and quiet. That means the longer it takes to get quiet, the less time you’ll have to work on the journal. • Spend this time reading! If you’ve finished reading or you don’t have your book, you could read something else. Read Write Speak Listen
Choice book day! • Next, I’d like you to work quietly on your own for about 15 minutes on your journal. • Find a blank spot in your journal. Label it with today’s date and journal # 19. • Spend this time working! If you’ve finished the journal, you could work on something else. Read Write Speak Listen
Journal Entry • For each journal entry, please include the following: • A. Illustration: draw an important event, character, setting from your reading • B. Question: write one question you have for your next group meeting • C. List any new plot events, characters, new settings, etc. • D. Prediction: write one prediction for the novel.
