GE PGT25 Snam Rete Gas Operational experience & feedback • GT model: 19 off PGT 25, using LM 2500 Compressor systems. All units drive Gas Compressors • GTE WW system installation: since September 2003 on 19 units • WW schedule: OFF-LINE every 6-12 months (some stations run 2000-3000 hrs/y; only few run up to 4000 hrs) • ON-LINE every 48 hours with Demi Water without detergent • ON-line wash : 4 minutes without any additive and without modifying the power output • OFF-line wash: water and detergent, formerly TurboK, more recently Zok 27 • Distance between GT and wash unit: only few meters • Feedback from customer • Time between OFF-line washes: SNAM reputes 6 months perfectly adequate and they are very happy • No detected problems with the detergent when used ON-line • Customers performance recovery: recovery 1,5% in fuel consumption on on-line • Performance monitoring through a torquemeter which gives an error less than 1% and through the fuel meter • Overall results: excellent, with great reduction in washing time and washing detergent for off-line • SRG is asking to install WW systems on all their new and upgraded units

GE Fr7EA Direct Energy USA GTE-1000i Operational experience • Direct Energy – Paris Generating Station, Paris, Texas • GTE EcoValue™ 1000i Water Wash System & 2xMS7001EA Gas Turbines • Prior to the purchase of the GTE system, these units only had an off line WW system • Need for a wash system not requiring unscheduled downtime to bring the compressor back to its potential • Their combined cycle configuration needed to improve availability, power, and HR • The 1000i water wash units were successfully commissioned on both 7EA engines at the Direct Energy Paris plant • Achievements: • 2 MW of additional power was recovered • ROI to the customer was almost 400% • Payback period 3.2 months • Environmental Benefit: NOx reduction 1958.4/lbs/year • CO reduction of 1468.8 lbs/mw-hr

GE Fr91E Paka Malaysia Operational experience & feedback • GT model: 6 off MS9001E, originally equipped with carbo-blasting system for compressor blades cleaning • This technique caused problems with oily contaminants, clogging of “instrumentation lines”, erosion of atomising air cooler tubes and risk of blocking the turbine blade cooling holes • GTE 600i-110 WW system installation: since May 2007 through June 2008 on all 6 units • WW schedule: OFF-LINE every opportunity shutdowns with chemicals • ON-LINE every day with Demi Water without detergent • Feedback from customer • 45MW approx power recovery from all the 6 GTs from the first offline wash • Thermal efficiency has increased by 0.4% - 1.4% (depending on the unit) • Average drop in the gross power output is less than 1MW/month • Further evaluations indicated the improved gross heat rate can still be maintained up to a period of 14 months • Evaluation of gross power output recovery from subsequent offline washes for GT2A and GT2B indicates the recovery of approximately 1.5MW and 2.0MW respectively.

Siemens V94.3 Panglima MY • Achievements: • ~5 MW increase in output for unit 11 • ~3 MW increase in output for unit 12 • HR increase about 1% for unit 12, slightly above 1% for 11. • These approximate values were obtained by taking the 10 minute average data for the three days in July Comments: • The results are so clear so the scatter problem, could be ignored for evaluation • The on-line wash program needs to be restarted and pursued by daily on-line wash, using both tanks, after two complete fill-up / heat / emptying cycles to rinse the detergent tank • Continue to follow the wash results by same method • Continuing research to find reason for the scattered data
