  3. Name That Organ! • Saliva is produced here. • Saliva starts chang- ing starches into sugar while still in the mouth! salivary glands

  4. Name That Organ! • This organ tastes food and moves it around your mouth to be broken down by teeth and saliva tongue

  5. Name That Organ! • Also known as the “food tube” • The epiglottis is a flap that prevents food or drink from entering the trachea (wind pipe) esophagus

  6. Name That Organ! • Breaks down food by using chemicals (chem- cal digestion) as well as churning food into smaller bits (physical digestion) • Can stretch like a balloon stomach
