CLIMATE IN INDIA
INFORMATION THE climate of India resolves into six major climatic subtypes; their influencesAridgive rise to desert in the west, alpine tundra and glaciers in the north, humid tropical regions supporting rain forests in the southwest, and Indian Ocean island territories that flank the Indian subcontinents . Humid subtropicalare mostly found in the central and Heat of India . Regions have starkly different—yet tightly clustered—microclimates.
The nation is largely subject to four seasons: winter (January and February), summer(March to May),amonsoon(rainy) season (June to September), and a post-monsoon period (October to December). India's geography and geology are climatically pivotal: the Thar Desert in the northwest and the Himalayas in the north work in tandem to effect a culturally and economically break-all monsoonal regime.
SOME MORE INFORMATION ONARID ZONE ,HUMID SUBTRPICAL ZONE, HIGHLAND ZONE, TROPICAL WET AND DRY ZONE CLIMATE ………..
ARID ZONE A region is arid when it is characterized by a severe lack of available water, to the extent of hindering or preventing the growth and development of plant and animal life. Environments subject to arid climates tend to lack vegetation and are called xeric or desertic. Most "arid" climates surround the equator; these places include most of Africa and parts of South America Asia, Central America and Australia……
HIGHLAND ZONE Highland zone is nothing but the climate that is normally in the North that points to Artic Circle . It is moslty cold in the nothern hemisphere.
HUMID SUBTROPICAL ZONE A humid subtropical climate (also Called as Köppen climate) is a zone ofsubtropical climate characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters . This category of climate type covers a broad range of attributes, especially in terms of winter temperatures. The term "subtropical" may be a misnomer for locations along the cooler ranges . The Humid Subtropical climate is found on the east coast of continents between 20o and 40o north and south of the equator.
HUMID SUBTROPICAL ZONE IN INDIA :- TRIPURA
TROPICAL WET • The west coastal lowlands, the Western Ghats have this climate type. It is characterised by high temperatures throughout the year, even in the hills. The rainfall here is seasonal, but heavy and is above 78 cm in a year. Most of the rain is received in the period from May to November, and is adequate for the growth of vegetation during the entire year. December to March are the dry months with very little rainfall. The heavy rain is responsible for the tropical wet forests in these regions, which consists of a large number of species of animals . Evergreen forests are the typical feature of the region.
TROPICAL DRY Most of the plateau of peninsular India enjoys this climate, except a semi-arid tract to the east of the Western Ghats. Winter and early summer are long dry periods with temperature above 18°C. Summer is very hot and the temperatures in the interior low level areas can go above 45°C during May. The rainy season is from June to September and the annual rainfall is between 75 and 150 cm.
INFORMATION Vegetation is general plant life and the ground cover provided by plants. Vegetation has no particular taxa, life forms, structure, spatial extent, or any other specific botanical or geographic characteristics. It is broader than which refers exclusively to species composition. Perhaps the closest synonym is plant community, but vegetation can, and often does, refer to a wider range of spatial scales than that term does, including scales as large as the global. Primeval redwood forests, coastal mangrove stands, sphagnum bogs, desert soil crusts, roadside weed patches, wheat fields, cultivated gardens and lawns.....
