Legislation SR + EU Act No. 15/2005on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein, amending and modifying some Acts Amendment to the Act No.447/2012 Decree of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic No. 110/2005implementing some provisions of the Act on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein, amending and modifying some Acts Amendment to the Decree No. 47/2013 EU WTR CITES National Action Plan (2014-2019)for the enforcement of implementation WTR

Scientific Authority of the Slovak republic § of Act No. 15/2005 State Nature Conservancy of the Slovak Republic – CITES Scientific Authority with 3 full time people Some of the main activities listed in Art. 21 : a) Give opinions to 1. import, export, re-export application 2. applications for issuing certificates as an exemption from the commercial activities with Annex A species 3. an application for issuance of a authorisation to movement of live specimens within the territory of the European Community, 4. a proposal concerning determination of a rescue centre 5. to dealing with confiscated specimens, c) provides scientific assistance to the state administration authorities in implementation of this Act and Regulation - species identification – custom offices – post office, airport in Bratislava, help with species identification during controls of Police and the Slovak Environmental Inspection

Scientific Authority of the Slovak republic § 21 of Act No. 15/2005 d) gathers expert data on specimens, e) cooperates with scientific authorities of other states, international organisations of nature protection and scientific institutions, i) keeps records of holders of specimens and records of specimens for the needs of the state administration authorities k) works out proposals for the Conference of the Parties to the Convention and provides opinions to proposals of other states at the Conference of the Parties to the Convention
