FINANCE The League’s Financial Year was April 2018 – March 2019 Brought Forward £4,076 INCOME League Fees £1,450 EXPENDITURE Trophies £ 454 Playwaze £ 299 Other expenses £ 139 Carried Forward £4,634
FINANCE Charitable Donations The League set aside £500 to be donated to Charities linked to events being held by Clubs or their Winter League players (e.g. sponsored events). There was only one application – from Didsbury Tennis Club – who raised money for Forever Manchester. The same offer will exist for the next 12 months but, unless interest is more significant, the idea/scheme will be quietly dropped

2018/19 FIXTURES MORE MATCHES SCHEDULED AND PLAYED NO MATCHES VOIDED AN EXCELLENT EFFORT BY MANY TEAMS
2018/19 DROP-OUTS 6 teams failed to complete the season: Division 2 David Lloyd Division 3 Woodside 1 Division 5 New Mills Mere 1 Division 11 Fletcher Moss 2 Division 11b Pownall Park This was a minor improvement as 7 teams failed to complete their fixtures in the 2017/18 season
2018/19 PLAYWAZE PROBLEMS • Teams are registering fewer of their players • Teams are not removing people that no longer play in their teams • The quality of scorecard completion has declined significantly • Rearranged fixture dates are not being changed on Playwaze • There were some technical issues with the software
2019/20 SEASON DATES THE 2019/20 SEASON WILL START ON OCTOBER 1ST INVITES FOR CLUBS TO ADVISE THE NUMBER OF TEAMS THEY WILL BE ENTERING WILL BE SENT SHORTLY AFTER THE AGM FINAL DATE FOR APPLICATIONS JULY 31ST NEW DIVISIONS WILL BE FINALISED DURING AUGUST FIXTURES MEETING IS ON SEPTEMBER 12TH

SINGLE SEASON TRIALS: Placing new Teams 2018/19 Div 10 1 team 1st Div 11 4 teams 1st; 7th; 8th; 10th Div 12a 4 teams 2nd; 4th; 5th; 10th Div 12b 3 teams 1st; 7th; 12th Overall… • 9 placements were OK • 3 placements could have been higher • 0 placements should have been lower Recommendation is to adopt this into the League Rules

SINGLE SEASON TRIALS SAFETY / PLAYABILITY OF COURTS • There have been comments received regarding the safety of courts at certain Clubs • A cursory check shows that none of the Summer Leagues have rules of this nature • However, Winter is a more difficult time and so teams are invited to comment on situations where they feel safety has been compromised • Multiple reports on one particular Club’s courts will be investigated by the Management Committee

MANAGING THE LEAGUE: LEAGUE RULES CHANGES • Any Club not registered with the LTA must provide proof of their public liability insurance when the submit details of their teams for the coming season • Up to 2 members can be co-opted to the Management Committee • The Management Committee now includes the role of Secretary • The playing up rule has been corrected to “… On Making a fourth appearance for a higher team, a player may not then revert to any lower team” • Teams dropping out 2 seasons running will not be eligible to enter the League the following season
MANAGING THE LEAGUE: LEAGUE RULES DELETIONS • The League will not register with Lancashire LTA (who rejected our application as the league had already registered with Cheshire LTA)
MANAGING THE LEAGUE: GUIDELINES • In the interests of transparency, the logic used to set Divisions for the following season have been appended to the League Rules • Key guidelines that are not “normal” are • Accelerated Promotion • Teams dropping out in a season will be relegated at least 2 Divisions • Teams finishing with 0 points (or fewer) will be relegated at least 2 Divisions
