The two types of bridge plugs are: permanent (used in plug and abandonment), or retrievable (Temporary). By using bridge plugs, we can avoid oil spills, and nearby contamination, preventing water pollution and ecosystem collapse near the drill. 3.Plug and abandonment: After a well has served its life cycle and the hydrocarbon production levels have dropped below levels needed for profitability, the wells need to shut.
