Why Does Football Mundial Academy Exist? • The FMA was created to offer an alternative youth development pathway to the elite competition structure currently offered in NSW. • We believe in a greater emphasis in technical & tactical development through better instruction, small sided games and less emphasis on winning competitions at a junior level. • FMA exists because parents now demand a higher standard of coaching that what is afforded to them at their junior club & representative teams. • FMA exists because many Youth league clubs do not attract top youth coaches (they offer little stability, planning and pay) and therefore players and parents seek better quality tuition for their children.

3. Why is the FMA Different? • We can pay for the highest level local and overseas coaches who focus on developing your child without worrying about competition results. • The FMA does not have senior teams so we don’t focus on relegation or club championships. • The FMA was the first academy to operate from February to December where players train and play ONLYwith the academy. • The FMA offers pathways to top European clubs such as FC Internazionale, to A League clubs, Premier League teams and US University Scholarship programs. • We offer teams in 2 centres currently at Strathfield and Carlton.

Why Play for a club? • Playing for a club gives all FMA boys the advantage of training and playing together under the same coach all year. • The boys get all the benefits of the specialized coaching as well as the regular competition, training facilities, insurance and support offered by a FNSW registered club. • It allows for the FMA to grow into the club benefiting both parties. • Arranging friendly games is easier even outside the regular season. • We have the freedom to play up an age group without difficulties.

5. Elite Junior Academy(based at Carlton Rovers FC) Professional Coaches for each squad will administer a program developed by the academy director Vince Colagiuri. Season runs November 2012 to September 2013 (January 2013 rest) September & October FREE training/trials to select squads in each age group. U11’s, U12’s & U13’s Train 3 times + play 1 match a week. U8’s & U9’s, U10’s, train twice a week, optional free play + play 1 match a week. U10’s to U13’s play up a year on Saturdays in the St George District competition or for U12’s & older on a Sunday in the Canterbury Association. Global Treatment Parental Education It’s important parents are kept in the loop, that’s why philosophies, structures and techniques used to improve your child will be explained through regular emails. Reports All players will receive regular feedback and mid-season reports so they (& parents) can plot progress. Elite Youth Coach from Bayer Leverkusen Markus Kirchner was one of the elite foreign coaches who coached at the FMA. What’s Free Play? Up to U12 level it is crucial the boys have time for free play to express themselves without pressure. It also allows them to implement what has been taught without being told to do it. Why Carlton Rovers FC? • The committee of Carlton Rovers FC fully endorse the philosophy of the FMA. • The home ground “Harold Fraser Oval” is the best in the competition. • Its location makes it easy for players from the east & south to travel to. • The club’s only junior players are the FMA players which means plenty of space for training & no problems playing boys up a team when needed.

12. Gwynne Berry Gwynne is the founder and Managing Director of Concept 4 Soccer International. Formerly the Academy Technical Coach with West Ham United & Crystal Palace F.C, he is responsible for establishing programmes in Asia, Oceania, Africa and Europe. With 25 years of experience and over 30,000 coaching sessions, he has become a widely respected technical coach, working globally with governing bodies, football associations and professional teams. His playing career covered almost 30 years. A youth player at Crystal Palace F.C., he continued a very rewarding and successful professional football career , making over 1000 senior appearances, culminating with an FA Trophy Winners medal with Woking F.C. at Wembley Stadium in 1994. Gwynne has been coaching for over 25 years, across 6 continents, giving him a wealth of experience and knowledge, which he now incorporates in to Concept 4 Soccer. 13. FAQ? • Will being part of this academy disadvantage my child in the future? No. Quantity and Quality of training with the right amount of games are the essential factors in making your child a better player. • Must my child be 13 in 2013 to qualify for u13’s Squad? No, if your child is younger and is one of the best 14 they will be selected? Any girls judged in the top 14 will also be selected. That goes for all squads. • Can my son train with the academy & play with Reps or a club team? No! This defeats the purpose, playing in the right structure, environment and style is as critical as the training sessions. • Will my child be less motivated not playing in a rep comp? No! Our teams will play up a year in the St George Assoc. competition as well playing many friendly games against rep & elite teams. Our Gala Days are also highly challenging and motivating for our kids. • What pathways does Football Mundial Offer? We have a structure that allows boys to continue up to 18 years of age after which through the academy network players will be recommended to overseas clubs, A League clubs, Premier League U20 clubs and US Universities. Secondly our close ties to many clubs in Europe means we can arrange the very best of our players to trial for many professional clubs.
