I. Introduction Cambodia consists of Constitution ratify the UNCRC, Criminal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure and other legal instruments stipulate the protection of the children. The previous implementation of both adults and children based on the existing laws; and it is not visible to differently implement with the children and adults. The study visit in Australia in 2012 under the sponsorship of CRI, esp. Mr. Honorable Alastair who always provides strongly support to seek for the justice of the children. Following the study tour, MoJ and CRI have conducted the National and Sub-National Conference on Child Justice. in Siem Reap and Battambang provinces
II. Achievement following the Conference and workshop • Pilot project of Child Friendly Court has been shaped up in Battambang • Pilot of case management • 2 workshops on alternative to detention in the Sub-National level conducted in February, 2013 and • Good practice and practical implementation
Although having no special law on Juvenile Justice, Battambang court of first instance has implemented in a child friendly procedure based on the best interest of the child. All the cases related with children, execution and pre-trial detention is the last resort and the four measures: education, supervision, protection and assistance have been applied.
III. Action Points: • Provide training to related stakeholders on Child Friendly Procedures. • Bi-monthly meeting with Judicial Police officers and relevant stakeholders • Cooperation with Local and International development partners and relevant stakeholders.
