Westbrook Village Verdict Background • Westbrook Village Verdict was a result of a suit brought against the City of Peoria in 2005 for damages upon the Golf Courses at Westbrook Village • Staff responded by creating a drainage improvement project to address the requirements set forth in the court order

24-inch Waterline Background • 24-inch waterline, 91st Avenue • One mile of waterline between Union Hills Dr. and Beardsley Rd. • Originally programmed as CIP Project UT00096 • 24-inch waterline, Beardsley Road • Two miles of waterline between 87th Ave. and Lake Pleasant Rd. • Originally programmed as CIP Project UT00145 • These waterlines will become part of a North-South transmission system to increase the overall reliability of the City’s water system

Project Schedule • Storm Drains and 24- inch Waterlines Construction • Scheduled for May 2009 to Dec. 2009 • 2 Crews (1 - Storm Drains, 1 – Waterlines) to expedite work • Work Adjacent to Parkridge Elementary • During Summer 2009 • Pavement Restoration • GMP#2 preliminary estimate: $1,255,000 • To be presented to Council in Spring 2010. • Construction to commence in May 2010, due to seasonal temperatures
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) • February 17, 2009 • President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 • City has applied for ARRA funds • Application is pending approval by the Arizona Water Infrastructure Finance Authority • The benefit to the City is a low interest loan (20 years at 2%) • Pulice Construction’s contract has been amended to be in compliance with the ARRA funding requirements (Davis Bacon Wage Rates & Buy American)
