5. School Day • 7:30 – Breakfast, Band, and Choir • 7:45 – Students begin arriving • 7:55 – Students may enter the building and proceed to their classrooms • 8:05 – School Begins • 3:17 – Students with kindergarten siblings go to their kindergarten sibling’s classroom and exit through kindergarten doors • 3:20 – School Ends

6. Preschool AM / PM Class 8:30 am / 12:00 pm School Day Begins Supervision begins at 8:25 am / 11:55 am; Bradley staff will walk down to the road to help students get out of vehicles and bring them to the east door. If you are later than 8:30 am / 12:00 pm, you will need to sign your child in at the front office. 11:15 am / 2:45 pm School Day Ends

Traffic proceduresarrival • Kindergarteners will enter through the west door • Please do not park in the drop off lane – there are parking spaces in front and behind the school • Grades 1 and 2 will enter from the south side of the building • Grades 3 and 4 line up at the third and fourth grade doors • Grades 5 and 6 line up at the fifth and sixth grade doors

Traffic procedures Dismissal • Older siblings who are car riders will meet their younger siblings at the latter’s rally points outside. • Grades 1 and 2 will exit out the south door of Bradley. • Grades 3-6 who are car riders will exit out their respective doors and proceed to their pick up area. • All SAS/CDC will proceed to the cafeteria hallway.

12. Traffic procedures and Dismissal • Walkers and bicycle riders will exit out the same door they entered in the morning. • Please do not park in the pick up lane. Do not leave your car unattended. • Thank you for your patience to ensure everyone remains safe. • To help make the process as efficient as possible we are asking that you put your last name in the dashboard on the passenger side. • Please refrain from having pets on school property.

13. Supervision before and after school • Unless arriving early for band, choir, breakfast, or other supervised activity, students should not arrive before 7:45 a.m. • Supervision of students begins at 7:45 a.m. • Please be conscientious of this policy…thanks!

14. attendance • Kansas state statute considers a student truant when he/she is absent from school for 3 consecutive days, 5 days in a semester, or 7 school days in a year, without a valid excuse. • Excused absences: personal illness, illness or death in family, necessary appointments that cannot be made outside of the school day, or family trips coordinated with the school. (Please email Dr. Culkin if you are considering taking your student out of school for three days or more.)

15. TARDIES Students are considered tardy if they arrive after the bell rings at 8:05. Non-residents – Please be aware and plan for extra traffic due to gate closures. Please ensure your children are in class from bell to bell.

16. Security • Please enter the front doors of the school and press the button to be buzzed into the school. • FPCON BRAVO – All visitors to the school must show proper identification while BRAVO is still in effect. • 100% ID Check • Proceed to the office and sign in.

17. Volunteers and visitors • All visitors and volunteers must report to the office upon arrival. • If you need to bring something to your child, please bring it to the office and we will make sure your child receives it. • If you need to pick up your child early, please come to the office, sign him/her out, and we will call for your child to come to the office. Children can only be released to those individuals listed on the emergency card on file with the school.

18. Classroom parties • We will have two school-wide class parties – the day before winter break and Valentine’s Day. The teacher will contact you about the parties. • Please make sure you check with the teacher about treats. We have students with allergies and want to make sure everyone is safe. • According to federal lunch program guidelines, any treats need to be delivered after 2 p.m.

19. School dress • Students are expected to be neat, clean, and appropriately dressed for all school activities. • Students may not wear hats or headgear, revealing clothing, or clothing that displays obscene language. • PE – Students must have tennis shoes

20. Health Concerns If you have any concerns regarding your child’s health, please talk with Jana Hummel, our school nurse.

21. Personal items • Toys, trading cards, iPods, electronic devices, skateboards, rollerblades, and hover boards may not be brought to school at any time.

22. grades • Progress reports will be sent home via mail at mid-quarter for students earning a D or U in any subject. • You may check your child’s grade on Skyward which is accessible through the district website. Password information can be acquired in the office.

Bullying • “Take a Stand, Lend a Hand” • Kansas Legislature • K.S.A. 72-8256 requires Kansas schools to have a bullying prevention policy and provide training for students and staff. • K.S.A. 21-6206 Harassment by telecommunication device. Updated Kansas law that addresses texting and cyber bullying.

28. Definition of bullying • Bullying is being mean to another student over and over again. Bullying often includes: • Teasing • Talking about hurting someone • Spreading rumors • Leaving students out on purpose • Attacking someone by hitting them or yelling at them • Bullying doesn’t always happen in person. Cyberbullying is a type of bullying that happens online or through text messages or emails. It includes posting rumors on sites like Facebook, sharing embarrassing pictures or videos, and making fake profiles or websites.

29. Differentiated Instruction • Grade level teachers give common assessments on a specific skill. • Teachers then meet to share and analyze data. • Students are grouped together based on their learning level of that particular skill. • Teachers give these assessments every 2-4 weeks, based on the skill being taught. • Sixth grade will departmentalize science and social studies.
