Reading is a pastime that Sean Houlihan truly takes pleasure in. When he is not substitute teaching for the Narragansett School District he is usually following a good book. One of his favorite genres is fiction, especially crime novels. His most loved authors include Dennis Lehane and George Pelecanoes. He also likes to read nonfiction books, specifically those related to foreign and domestic history, and the biographies of history's greatest people.

Sean Houlihan Values Current Innovations in Education As a full time substitute teacher in the Narragansett School District and a former full time teacher for the previous decade, Sean Houlihan places a high value on learning and following the current trends in educational theory. He believes that to effectively teach children in today's society, it is crucial that an educator has their hand on the pulse of the most up to date technologies and insights.

  2. Sean Houlihan Follows the World's Current Events With a lengthy background in the education of history Sean Houlihan understands why it is important to follow the current events of the world. Not only does his professional career benefit from this knowledge, he also finds it to be a worthwhile personal hobby. Keeping track of political events happening in the United States is something he considers to be a hobby, which he can then bring into the classroom to enrich his student's learning experiences.

Sean Houlihan Has Been Nominated for Teacher of the Year Many Times As an educator one of the finest recognitions you can receive from your school is being nominated for the Teacher of the Year award, just ask Sean Houlihan. He has been nominated in two different years, both as an overall educator and for his previous role as a Social Studies teacher. Achieving this recognition is something that he is proud of and he values being associated with the top teachers in his field for New Jersey and Rhode Island.

Sean Houlihan Advises the Student Council There are some teachers who are content to only work their given hours and call it a day, and then there is Sean Houlihan, who puts in more time to benefit the student's of his school. One of the ways he does this is by being an advisor to the student council. He has the opportunity in this role to assist students who are likely to become future leaders in the Northeast region of the United States and beyond.
