Compassion-when our heart goes out to another living being in distress. Supposing that being is our self, is it as easy to give compassion and forgiveness to our self as it would be to another person? We make mistakes and errors of judgement, and sometimes those mistakes and errors have very severe consequences for others than our self; we are judged and derided, and often punished.
