A Study of Rehabilitation of CKD Patient's on Hemodialysis in Tribal Population

A Study of Rehabilitation of CKD Patient's on Hemodialysis in Tribal Population

Chronic kidney disease CKD worldwide is rising markedly becoming a priority public health problem. The progression of CKD cause functional limitation and severe disability with poor quality of life. The aim of present review was to highlight the effect of rehabilitation in CKD and ESRD subjects. The rehabilitative process is unique in treating disabled people according to a holistic approach with the aim of supporting a persons independent living and autonomy. CKD are associated with an increased risk of functional impairment, independent of age, gender, and co morbidities. Clinicians should counsel patients with CKD including frail elder people to increase physical activity levels and target that regular physical activity including aerobic or endurance exercises training benefits health. In old subjects with CKD and multiple functional impairments, the traditional disease based model should be changed to individualized patient centered approach that prioritizes patient preferences. Patients receiving haemodialysis have a considerably lower exercise tolerance, functional capacity, and more muscle wasting than healthy subjects or patients with less severe CKD. Exercise training or comprehensive multi dimensional strategy and goal oriented intervention should be also provided in ESRD older subjects. Structured prevention programs based on reducing the risk factors for CKD and rehabilitative strategies could reduce disability occurrence. 1 Rehabilitation Medicine and Neuro Rehabilitation Unit, Scientific Institute, Hospital 'Casa Sollievodella Sofferenza, San Giovanni Rotondo Foggia , Italy Dr. Dolly Ajwani Ratre | Rashmi Nande | Navin Kumar Ratre "A Study of Rehabilitation of CKD Patient's on Hemodialysis in Tribal Population" Published in International Journal of Trend in Scientific Research and Development (ijtsrd), ISSN: 2456-6470, Volume-3 | Issue-2 , February 2019, URL: https://www.ijtsrd.com/papers/ijtsrd20267.pdf Paper URL: https://www.ijtsrd.com/medicine/urology/20267/a-study-of-rehabilitation-of-ckd-patientu2019s-on-hemodialysis-in-tribal-population/dr-dolly-ajwani-ratre

Assessment of Climate Change Awareness and Risk Perception Among Rural People in Funtua Local Government Area, Katsina S

Assessment of Climate Change Awareness and Risk Perception Among Rural People in Funtua Local Government Area, Katsina S

Climate change has become the dominant topic of discourse among scientists and other stakeholders in climate science in this century. Several researches have been conducted to assess its magnitude, causes, adverse impacts and possible solution to its challenges at various scales where adaptation and mitigation were the fundamental recommendations. While public awareness and perception of the change, are the necessary pre requisites to achieve true adaptation and mitigation, in the context of sustainable development. However, most of the negotiations were made at international level making it Top Down affair with little regard to national dynamics of individual countries. The aim of this research was to assess the level of awareness and risk perception of climate change, among rural people in Funtua Local Government Area, Katsina State, Nigeria. A household questionnaire survey method was used in collecting the primary data from 384 randomly selected respondents, in which 97.7 response rate was recorded. Descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentage distribution, mean score and tables were used in analyzing and presenting the data. While Binomial Logistic Regression Analysis was used to ascertain the effect of some socio demographic characteristics of the respondents, on their likelihood of been aware of climate change and perceiving it as a risk. The study revealed that climate change awareness was impressively high 78 of the respondents were aware of it, though with poor knowledge of its causes among the respondents. While majority 73 of the respondents agreed that climate change is a great risk to their individual lives and the society. The study further revealed that, sex, level of educational attainment, and main occupation of the respondents p .005 significantly predicts their level of climate change awareness. But, only level of education and main occupation p .005 significantly predicts risk perception of the adverse change among the respondents. The study then recommended that, the Governments should tailored their climate change policy and programmes, toward educating the rural people, so as to enhance their level of awareness of the scenario for better participation in adaptation and mitigation programmes the Government at both federal and state levels through their relevant agencies, should double their effort in public awareness campaign, especially on causes and the risk associated with climate change to the rural people that, extension agencies should double their efforts in public awareness campaign about climate change and adaptation techniques to especially those engaged in climate sensitive activities and that further study should be conducted to assess adaptive capacity and adaptation strategies adopted among the rural people. The Distribution of Human Intestinal Stool Parasites with Respect to Gender and Age in a District Hospital Setting in Bi

In this study, the distribution of human stool parasites with respect to gender and age was reviewed in a retrospective and descriptive study. Patient's records over two years 1995 and 1996 were reviewed at the Biyem Assi District Hospital in Yaoundu00e9:. During the study period, 1387 patients suspected to have been suffering from intestinal parasites according to their symptoms had their stools analyzed in the laboratory of this hospital. The objectives of the study were 1. To investigate whether the global prevalence of intestinal parasites is below 50 2. To investigate whether the positive cases of intestinal parasites are lower than the negative cases. 3. To investigate whether mates haves higher risk of intestinal parasites than females. 4. To investigate whether the prevalence rate of intestinal parasites is higher in adolescents especially between the ages of 11 15 years. 5. To investigate whether the most prevalent intestinal protozoa is Entamoeba histolytica and whether the most prevalent intestinal helminthe is Ascaris lumbricoides. 6. To investigate whether the prevalence rate of Entamoeba histolytica is higher in males than in females and whether the prevalence rate of Ascaris lumbricoides is higher in females than in males. 7. To investigate whether the most prevalent intestinal protozoa which occurs between the ages 0 15 years is Entamoeba histolytica while the most prevalent intestinal helminthes between the ages of 0 15 years are Trichiuris trichiura and Ascaris lumbricoides. 8. To investigate whether there is the existence of associations between human intestinal helminthes between human intestinal protozoa and between human intestinal helminthes and protozoa. The hypotheses stated in the null form were 1. The global prevalence of intestinal parasites is not below 50 . 2. The positives cases of intestinal parasites are not lower than the negative cases. 3. The males do not have a higher risk of intestinal parasites than females. 4. The prevalence of human intestinal parasites is not high in adolescents between the ages of 11 15 years. 5. The most prevalent intestinal protozoa is not Entamoeba histolytica while the most prevalent intestinal helminthe is not Ascaris lumbricoides. 6. The prevalence rate of Entamoeba histolytica is lower in males than in females and the prevalence rate of Ascaris lumbricoides is lower in females than in males. 7. An Analysis of Zeno's View Regarding Motion

An Analysis of Zeno's View Regarding Motion

Zeno of Elea about 489 BC , is the favorite disciple of Parmenides about 514 BC . Zeno devotes himself in refuting the views of the opponents of Parmenides. Arguments against the possibility of motion, is first found in The Dialectic of Zeno. To examine the reality of motion, it is necessary to make a new look towards Zeno's reaction on motion. The ancient Greek philosophers are confused to think about space, time and motion. Zeno is the first who deeply thinks about these. His arguments, generally known as his paradoxes, seem to show that motion is simply an illusion which is not possible in any circumstances. Arguments of Zeno are based upon the argument which may be called the antinomy, i.e., a proof that since two contradictory propositions equally follows from a given assumption that must be false of infinite divisibility. But in our times, we know that the fallacies of his proofs, the confusion of the infinite divisibility of space and time with infinite dividedness, he does not notice himself. He argues from the geometrical line to the actual line. Indeed, a geometrical point has no magnitude and a geometrical line is infinitely divisible. But in everyday life the movement between any distance, is not infinitely divisible, nor any observed time which we live through as short or long, is infinitely divisible into moments. Zeno confused an analytic proposition with a synthetic proposition. An analytic proposition does not require any observation to confirm or disconfirm its truth while a synthetic proposition can be true if it corresponds to an actual state of affairs. A distance or time is infinitely divisible, is only an analytic proposition but actual distance traversed in same observed time is not infinitely divisible. Without motion our usual life would be stopped. Sun, moon, stars, planets and other stars cannot move without motion. If motion is not accepted then astronomy would be in vein. Even we cannot speak and write without the movement of our vocabulary organs and that of fingers respectively. So, the existence of motion has to accept in usual life, in scientific research and in all other aspects of life. Assessment on Accumulation of Heavy Metals and its Effect on Liver Tissues of Harpodon Nehereus from Mumbai Coast of Mah

Assessment on Accumulation of Heavy Metals and its Effect on Liver Tissues of Harpodon Nehereus from Mumbai Coast of Mah

Heavy metal pollution is a very serious issue in the present world and is caused by release of toxic substances from industrial and domestic sources into the sea water leading to harm marine organisms. Marine fishes are commonly consumed for its nutritional benefits' and thus lead to transfer toxic metals into the food chain. Harpodon nehereus is a common and local fish from west coast of Maharashtra with high consumption rate among local population. Fish organs particularly liver being major site of detoxification shows structural alterations on exposure to pollution stress from their surrounding environment. Histopathological examination provides an indication of organ impairment to evaluate the health status of selected fish and the degree of pollution in marine environment. The present research effort was done to evaluate the concentration of heavy metals and to study histopathological alterations in liver tissues of largely consumed fish Harpodon nehereus collected from Sassoon dock, west Coast of Maharashtra, India. The research was carried out during the post monsoon season of the year. High accumulation of lead 11.8 u00c2u00b1 8.34 mg kg , copper 20.46 u00c2u00b1 11.06 mg kg and Zinc 286.26 u00c2u00b1 114.5 mg kg were observed in liver tissues. Further histopathological study of present investigation reveals heavy damages in liver tissues of Harpodon nehereus representing that the selected fish is under high threat of pollution stress.
