Surprising Benefits of Amazon Frog Poison Kambo
In the Amazon, kambo is traditionally gathered early in the early morning, when the Phyllomedusa bicolor-- the giant monkey frog from which the secretion is derived-- are singing and can quickly be discovered. Several peptides in Kambo are most likely responsible for the impact. The Kambo peptide dermorphin increased the production of prolactin in healthy 28 human subjects. Kambo is usually collected from the tree frog early in the early morning when a tribal individual follows the tune of the frog. Once caught, the frog is connected in an "x" shape and the toxic secretions are carefully scraped from their legs and saved on wooden sticks for usage in the Kambo event.
