Geosynthetics Market: Global Industry Analysis
Geosynthetics is a type of polymeric material predominantly used in engineering applications such as civil construction and environmental protection projects. Rising land scarcity, increasing awareness about seismic hazards, and stringent environmental regulations are the catalyzing factors behind the growth of geosynthetics. Some of the major polymeric materials used in the production of geosynthetics are polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyester. In general, geosynthetics materials are produced from petrochemical-based plastics which remain unaffected by fungi or bacteria and cannot be decomposed. These materials are typically found in the soil and help reinforce soil, distribute loads, prevent soil erosion, and control water pressure.
