D-Mannose is a simple sugar which is being extensively studied for its potential to treat or prevent urinary tract infections (UTI's). It is thought that D-Mannose prevents certain types of bacteria from adhering to the bladder walls, by sticking to the sugar instead and being excreted via urine.
