Different globs from this aromatic material/sap or piece poured down from ancient trees. They often trapped leaves, bark, twigs and insects. Amber is one of the rare and handful gemstones having an organic origin. In pre-historic Egypt and India, people used amber for burning as incense. They believed it to purify and cleanse the surrounding area. The material is found in abundance along the Baltic Sea shores.
