Structural studies of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of N''-[(1Z,2E)-2-(hydroxyimino)-1-phenylpropylidene]-
The complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) with N''-[(1Z,2E)-2-(hydroxyimino)-1 phenylpropylidene]-N'''-[(1E)-phenylmethylene] thiocarbonohydrazide have been synthesized and investigated by elemental analyses, molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility data, IR, UV and ESR spectra. Coordination area and metal ion geometry varies with different molar ratio. Elemental analyses and spectroscopic data of the metal complexes are consistent with the formation of a mononuclear Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) and binuclear Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of 1:2 and 1:1 molar ratio respectively. In the binuclear complexes of Cu(II), the fourth coordination site is occupied by the deprotonated oxime of the ligand coordinated to the other metal.
