Sterling silver is an exquisitely beautiful, white, luminous precious metal but less expensive than platinum. 3) Just like gold, platinum doesn't tarnish, corrode, rust, or change colour over the years. And like gold, it's a great metal for making jewellery. It's dense, malleable, (moves easily) and at the same time, very strong. The main downside of sterling silver is its softness. It may scratch, bend and tarnish under repetitive daily wear, pressure or sudden knocks. So you need to clean it regularly to maintain its gleam.
