How Poor Sanitation Is Affecting India’s Women
With huge middle class and lower class population, India is promoting poor hygiene practices each and every day. Most affected are the girls and women in underserved communities, as reported by the studies conducted by various women and child rights NGOs in India. One of the most viable solutions offered is girl child education in these communities that will help in reducing the impact of poor sanitation. What is being taught is being learnt, what is being presented is assimilated. Today, what girls should be taught and the level to which they can be educated remain a concern in lower class and middle class families. Education is essentially about learning which places the learner at the centre of the process. By education here, I also mean educating girls about health and sanitation practices.
