Travelling Treks in Tanzania
Mount Meru, the second highest mountain in Tanzania, stands 4566 metres high. An ideal option for training and acclimatisation for a successive Kilimanjaro climb. Situated within Arusha National Park as a centrepiece, one is likely to encounter various wild animals during the initial part of the trek, and therefore an armed ranger will accompany you throughout your journey. Many consider this trek physically more challenging compared to the Marangu or Rongai trail especially due to the steepness in the upper part of the mountain. During cloudless skies, you may be lucky to glimpse Kilimanjaro from the summit. The full climb can be attempted within 3 days; however we would highly recommend the 4 day trekking option.
