What are the important applications of GI Pipes?
GI (Galvanised Iron) pipes are fabricated using mild steel strips of low carbon steel coils. To provide a circular shape to the carbon strips, they are passed through a sequence of fine rolls. With continuous high-frequency electric current across the end of the edges, the strips are welded together. Further, the steel pipes (welded) are then passed through sizing parts where any dimensional issues are corrected. With the help of automatic cutting machines, the pipes are then cut into desired lengths. In the end, these tubes are then pressure tested to see any leaks. The varnishing and galvanization of the pipes are done as per specific requirements.
