  2. Problem • Time required to fill Reser Stadium with a fire hose (assuming no leaking or seeping during the process). • Given: One fire hose, No leaking or seeping • Find: Time required to fill Reser Stadium

  3. Individual Estimates • Kyle- 7 days • Corrin- 10 days • Margo- 8 days

  4. Team Methods • Find dimensions of stadium in cubic feet • Estimate gallons per second a fire hose releases. • Using this information find how many days it will take to fill Reser Stadium.

  5. Assumptions • Reser Stadium- 10,800,000 cubic feet • Fire hose- 5 gallons/second • 1.5 gallons in cubic foot

  6. Solutions • 10,800,000 cb. Ft. x 1.5 gallons/cb ft.= 16,200,000 cubic gallons • 16,200,000cb. Gal/ 5 gal/sec= 3,240,000 seconds • 3,240,000 sec/3600 sec/hour= 900 hours • 900 hours/24hours per day= 37.5 days
