Project Proposal • Using body wearable MEMS sensor for analyzing human health behavior by measuring pulse rate
Features • Measurement of pulse rate using a MEMS biomedical pressure sensor • Connection to ATLAS node using wireless connectivity • A Biomedical application which can interpret the readings from the sensor • Sending of the information read from sensor to the emergency service or PDA of the house owner/doctor
MEMS and its benefits • MEMS: Micro-ElectroMechanical Systems • Miniaturization of Electromechanical systems • Improvement of performance • Lower cost via batch fabrication • Some physical phenomena are better at micro/nano scale • More reliable and accurate in real time applications
Equipment required • MEMS pressure sensor like those from Freescale. • ATLAS node with Wi-Fi connectivity.
