October 14, 2008 Notification • On December 8-11, 2008, New Jersey’s Clean Energy program will offer training to individuals who wish to become a certified wind site assessor. • Course Title: MREA’s Wind Site Assessor Training • Course Number: NA • Course Description: • This certification process training will meet the Midwest Renewable Energy Association’s (MREA) requirements needed to become a certified wind site assessor. The training will consist of one session which will encompass four days of training on December 8-11, 2008. Participants will learn how to: • evaluate the wind energy potential for a particular site • estimate the kWh outputs for a proposed system based on the wind resource • provide recommendations for small wind energy systems and towers to meet a client’s needs • provide information and guidance on appropriate siting and location for small wind systems • provide a general cost estimate for small wind systems • determine the minimum acceptable tower height for a particular site • provide other assistance in making a small wind system a reality • Please note that successful completion of this seminar fulfills one step in the certification process. Candidates wishing to become certified site assessors must also complete other course work and pass a written examination among other requirements.
