How to Earn Credits for AEE Certification Renewal • Holding Office in a Professional Engineering Society (Serving on the BoD of the local Chapter) *1 Credit per year (3 MAX per Renewal) • Continued Employment in Energy Management/ Energy Engineering activities *1 Credit per year (3 MAX per Renewal) • Membership in a Professional Engineering Society (AEE, ASHRAE, USGBC, IEEE, etc) *1 Credit per year (3 MAX per Renewal)
How to Earn Credits for AEE Certification Renewal (cont.) • Continuing Education: Energy-related seminars and college courses (includes in-house or online seminars) • 2 Credits per: • CEU earned (1.6 CEU = 3.2 credits) • College credit hour earned • 10 non-credit contact hours • (Attending a 30 minute presentation will grant 0.5 non-credit contact hours. Attending a 60 minute presentation will grant 1 non-credit contact hour) A minimum of 5 non credit contact hours is equal to 1 renewal credit. (Must be submitted for approval)
How to Earn Credits for AEE Certification Renewal (cont.) • Professional awards or papers presented and published re: energy engineering/management • presenting at a Chapter Meeting (~30 min) or being published in a Company or Chapter newsletter. • Content must be of a technical matter. Credit will only be granted per each original presentation/published paper. • 2 credits each
