What are Panels and How Do They Work? • A panel can be • a list of patients with appointments in Epic for a specific provider, • a list of patients with a specific diagnosis, • your inpatient scratch census can display as a panel • a list you create on the fly by adding patients individually • Owner/creator of a panel can (and administrators) • Read (see the panel) • Add and remove patients and • Delete or rename the panel and • Grant access to others to use the panel • Administrators are (SSS, HelpDesk, Outpatient team, Susan Connor) • See Creating Panels under Provider Education on SSS website for more detail
Easy Way to Give Panel Access! Use StarCopy in Administration Determine from requester the name of a person who already has the panel Determine specific name of the panel (the enduser can get the correct name from a coworker if they are being told they need the panel Go to StarCopy and type in name or racF of current panel user Type in racF of person requesting the panel Click OK Current users panels will display Click on the correct panel name Click OK New person now has READ only access to the panel
Managing Access to a Panel: To give user more levels of access than READ (end user can also use this to give team members access : 1 Click on the Panel that you created 2 Enter by last name Check boxes for specific Access Click OK to grant access 3 Will receive confirmation screen
