  2. Today we will look at…. • Creating Tally Tables from given data • Creating Frequency Tables from the Tallies • How to create bar charts and line plots

  3. Tally Charts A Tally Table is a table used to record how frequently we find a certain data point. We use vertical lines to represent one count They make it useful to record large amount of data quickly

  4. Frequency Table These are used most often to organize data, they can be created from a tally table and is simply a number placed on how frequently the data point occurs

  6. We can now use the data we have collected organized in our frequency table to represent in a graphical way, this way it may make more sense to us

  7. Bar Charts Bar charts are a simple and effective way of displaying data It consist of a series of bars of the same width, drawn vertically or horizontally The height of the bar always represents the frequency The bars are separated by gaps of equal width

  12. Line Plots A line plot is used to display small sets of discrete or categorical data, it si similar to a bar chart but it has a  or a ✖ instead of a bar
