What is the Sabbath for? • Rest - Ex 23:12 • You are not to work. - Stop working • Your donkey should rest – lit ‘be quiet’, ‘settle down’, ‘lay down’. • Your employees are to be refreshed – ‘take a breather’ • Remembering • Creation - Exodus 20:11

Why Sunday not Saturday? • The seventh day marked the victory of the first creation. • The first day marked the victory of the new creation • How should we use the Sabbath? • Use it for Rest • Use it for Worship • A wonderful ideal – But how can we do it? • By managing expectation • By good preparation
