  2. Springs Alive Children’s Center is a school and day care center in Kakiri village in Uganda This is our flag … and this is where Uganda is in Africa

  3. Kakiri village is near the capital Kampala

  4. Our classrooms are very simple … but we are proud of what we’ve built!

  5. Our classrooms have no windows … but we need all the light because …

  6. our classrooms have no electricity ... .. we only learn during the day

  7. Our food is cooked on an open fire … ..in our little kitchen ..but we learn better when we’re not hungry.

  8. Our classrooms have dust floors so we have to sprinkle water when we study … … … but there’s no running water …

  9. … so we fetch it in from the well … and carry it back to school.

  10. We make our own benches …

  11. We make our own desks …

  12. Our library may be small … … but the books are well used.

  13. Our teachers are volunteers … .. they teach from the heart.

  14. We thank God for what we have … Each and every one of us!

  15. We know that education will improve our lives … … and we will learn, no matter what challenges we face!
