  2. Holy week • Always remember Jesus` suffering and death • Holy means “set apart” • Holy refers to anything that is set apart for God • Special week

  3. Palm sunday • Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey • People waved palms saying “Hosanna” • First day of Holy week

  4. Holy Thursday • Jesus invited apostles and disciples to Last Supper • Jesus washed feet • Jesus celebrated Passover with apostles • Broke bread and drank wine with apostles and disciples

  5. Good Friday • Jesus suffered and died on the cross • Listen to readings from the bible • Be kind and venerate the cross • Altar is bare

  6. Easter Vigil • Holy Saturday the church is silent • Think about everything Jesus did for us • At sunset candle is lit and carried into church and we sing “Alleluia”

  7. Easter Sunday • Jesus rose from the dead • Sing “Alleluia” • Jesus opened gates of heaven
