  2. Affect Vs. Effect • The word affect means to produce a change in something. •  If you are talking about a result, then use the word "effect."

  3. Examples The prescribed medication had an effect on the patient's symptoms. The weather conditions will affect the number of people who come to the county fair this year.

  4. Advice Vs Advise Advice is a noun. It is a suggestion or recommendation Advise is a verb. It means "to give advice" and therefore refers to the act of giving advice

  5. Examples His advice was sound and everyone listened to him. I turned down that bribe on your advice. I would advise you to submit your resignation in view of this scandal. My lawyer has advised me to settle this matter out of court.

  6. Accept Vs. Except • An action verb indicating you are receiving something • Except usually means "unless" or "excluding," but it's sometimes used as verb "to leave out."
