  2. 10-Gigabit Ethernet – 10GbE • standard IEEE 802.3ae-2002 • IEEE 802.3ae Task Force: • podršku joj pruža 10GEA (10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance) • prijenosna brzina 10 Gbit/s • cijena samo 2-3 puta veća od GE • podržava • IEEE 802.3 standarde nižih brzina • upravljanje prometnim tokovima (IEEE 802.3x) • samo dvosmjerni prijenos • mediji: SMF, MMF i UTP (paralelno sučelje) • definiran kao LAN i WAN sučelje (OC-192c) • primjena u LAN-u, MAN-u, SAN-u i WAN-u 10-Gigabitni Ethernet
