The Research Exchange • Provides a vehicle through which the work of social scientists in the University can make a contribution to public life and culture locally, nationally and internationally. • Enables and supports the delivery of deeper and more systematic engagement between researchers and private, public and third sector/community stakeholders within the city-region and beyond.
RESS: formerly the PSA • New HEIF resources and business plan for 2011-2015. • One of five faculty gateways with broader objectives. • Embedded in University IIKE and Faculty R&I strategies. • New and enlarged team. • Responsive to emerging changes in HEI research activity and interfaces with policy/practice.
RESS Objectives • Growth in research income • Increase impact of research • Enable new partnering • Promote public engagement
RESS Activities • Reactive to internal and external enquiries – a gateway. • Routine support of KE and impact activities, such as funding calls – a service. • Pro-active development of projects involving long term relationships and outcomes – capacity building. • Testing models and practices in KE for the social sciences – viability and sustainability.
