School Registration • We will help you register your child or children • Please bring these papers to the School Secretary: Immunization records Social Security Cards for you and your children Birth Certificate Proof of Residency Home Language Survey Previous School Records
Papers and Documents to be completed for school district registration are: • Home and Work telephone Numbers • Emergency Telephone Numbers (family and friends’ telephone numbers) • Transportation Information Form • Free and Reduced Meal Form (if applicable) • Health Information Form (your family doctor signs this form) • Student Technology Permission Form • Insurance Information Form • Home Language Survey

School Security Policy • All Visitors sign the visiting book in school office • Security Guards and local Police are in school only for the protection of your children and the school staff. School Rules: • No Violence • No Drugs • No Alcohol
Bullying and Discipline Policy • No Bullying or Teasing Bully: a person who pushes, yells, steals, and scares you with words or actions Teasing: when a person says things that are not nice to another person
What to do about bullying and teasing? • Student says “Stop it!” to bully. • Student tells a teacher, guidance counselor, principal or adult. • Student tells you, the parents, what happened. • Parents will call the school to talk about the problem.
Discipline Policy • In-class discipline • Detention (with telephone call to parents) • Suspension = no school for many days • Expelled = out of school permanently
Attendance Policy and Procedures • School starts at: 7:30 Middle and High School 8:30 All elementary schools • Students must be in class OR report to the office • Late Arrival Procedure • Sick day call-in Procedure • Excuse Notes within 3 days of absence • Homework missed Policy

ESL Services • English as a Second Language Program • Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing Skills • Small group of ESL students learn together • All ESL Teachers are Program Specialists • Progress Reports are given to parents • ESL Student Monitoring Program • ESL teachers monitor students after they complete the ESL program • Teachers help with problems or questions
Parent Volunteers All Parents are Welcome in the Classroom • Go to Office • Sign your name in visitor book • Wear a volunteer sticker at all times • Go to the classroom Thank you for volunteering your time
Breakfast and Lunch • Eating together as a family is a wonderful time. • The Breakfast Program is planned only for the school children to start their day at school. • We Welcome you to sit with your children at Lunch Time as a family.

Personal Belongings • Backpacks, coats, clothing and binders should have students names written on them • Lockers are assigned to each student. DO NOT BRING TO SCHOOL • Expensive jewelry • CD players, radios, tape, recorders, electronic games • Sharp objects like knives, scissors, or cutters
Student Dress Code Dress Code Guideline All students must wear shirts, pants/skirt and shoes at all times. See Handbook. Physical Education Classes require a change of clothes. This is done in locker rooms.
Fundraisers • Fund = money • Raise = to pile up high, to gather a lot of money Each year the families of our school sell products. The money goes to school activities for Fun and Education: • Book Fair • Science Fair • Field Trips • Family Nights
