Training Programme on International Waters Legislation with University of Dundee • The module is aimed at persons working in water resources who wish to acquire specialist knowledge of international water law
Training Programme on International Waters Legislation in Latin America • GWP-University of Dundee’s International Water Law Scholarship Programme adapted • Address the unique linguistic, cultural and legal aspects of trans-boundary water management in Latin America and address specific regional and national water challenges. • This initiative is intended to build synergies amongst GWP partners, • Universidad Externado de Colombia, • Cap-Net, LA-WETnet, • Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, • IUCN, • Universidad Gabriela Mistral (Chile), • Dundee University • National Water Authority of Brazil..
Integrated Urban Water Management • 1 day awareness raising modules that will introduce the concept and principles of IUWM specially tailored to the context of developing countries • a one week training module designed for Urban Water Partnerships and lead them in the definition of IUWM planning and identification of potential investment plans.

Framework for Water Security and Climate Resilient Development in Africa
Water, Climate Development Programme – Capacity Development in Africa • identify, prioritise and appraise no/low regrets investments options • integrating WS&CR into development planning processes • Contributes to the achievement of the objectives of the National Adaptation Plans process
Target Audience • Primary target audience: government planners across line ministries such as Economic planning, Finance, Water Resources, Agriculture, Environment, Energy, Health and Infrastructures. • Secondary target audience: RECs, RBO, Development Banks, Researchers and practitioners from key planning agencies and institutions, GWP regional and national teams, UNDP LDCF project coordinators,, NGO and others.
Capacity Development at the Transboundary Level • 5 River Basin Organizations: Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS), Volta Basin Authority (VBA), Limpopo Water Course Commission (LIMCOM) • 20 RBO with SITWA • Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC) and Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC); • Regional Economic Communities: SADC, ECOWAS, ECCAS, EAC and others.
Capacity Development at the National Level • Initially 24 (3X8) National Institutions of 8 Countries • Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Ghana, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tunisia and Zimbabwe; • Additional Countries engaged in NAPs Benin, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Liberia and Zambia
Areas of possible joint initatives with Cap-Net networks in Africa • Support to adapt learning materials to country contexts • Focus is on institutional development – lessons from Catchment Partnership; Water Safety Planning • Mentoring and on the job training

Possible Joint Activities with the APFM • Revision of the IFM training manual, started in 2008, particularly including the feedback and lessons learnt on capacity building cumulated over the years. • Continue co-organizing training courses (like APFM and CapNet have done in Kenya, Ethiopia, Brasil, etc. until 2011). • Identify, based also on the requests received through the HelpDesk, which other opportunites of cooperation with CapNet may be on training courses.
