  3. Read page 362 to find out what a myth is. • Read the top section of page 362. • Write a paragraph describing what a myth is. • Tell what it is, why Greeks used them, give examples of Greek Myths and any extra information.

  4. Essential Question #2 • Read pages 362-363 with your 12:00 0'clock partner. • Write a paragraph explaining how the Greeks honored their gods. Be sure to include details about holy festivals and the Olympics. • In a sentence explain who Athena was.

  5. Early Greek LiteraturePages 364-365 • Besides stories about gods, the Greeks also told stories about their ancient heroes. Much of what we know about the early Greeks comes from stories passed down through generations. This was done through the use of epic poems. According to tradition, a blind man, Homer, composed the most famous epics.

  6. Epics of Homer p. 364 • Explain what the Illiad is using complete sentences. • Who was Achilles? • Homer also wrote the Odyssey. Describe what the story was about using a box and bullets (graphic Organizer).

  7. Aesop's Fables • What is a fable? • Explain one of Aesop's Fables.
