Every person has the rights to profess, practice its religion and also to propagate it Under the law and in practice, it is very difficult for Muslims to change religions Example: application of a malay woman who argued that she converted to Christianity.

COLLECTIVE RIGHTS Urged the right to political,economic and cultural self determination The government implemented extensive preferential programs designed to boost the rights of the Malays majority. Such preferential programs and policies limited opportunities for non-Malays in higher education government employment and business permits and licenses. Indigenous people faced discrimination and often were exploited in many matters. Long standing policies gave preferences to Malays in many areas and ethnic’s minorities faced discrimination. The Chinese and Indians minorities did not benefit from the preferential policies that benefited ethnics Malays.
